  • Kilimanjaro Mountain

The Rongai Route is the only trail that approaches Mount Kilimanjaro from the northern side, close to the Kenya border. It is known for being quieter, drier, and less crowded compared to southern routes. This makes it an excellent choice for trekkers who prefer a more remote and peaceful climbing experience.

The route offers a gradual ascent through forest, moorland, and alpine desert zones before joining the Marangu Route near the summit. Climbers enjoy beautiful views of Mawenzi Peak and wide open landscapes with fewer rainfall interruptions.

Although it is one of the easier routes in terms of terrain, proper acclimatization is still important for summit success at Uhuru Peak (5,895m).
