Itinerary

You begin your adventure at Lemosho Gate where registration is done before entering the lush rainforest zone. The trail is rich with tall trees, birds, and wildlife sounds. This is a gentle introduction to Kilimanjaro trekking. You will enjoy a peaceful walk through dense forest.

Today the trail gradually leaves the rainforest and enters the moorland zone. You will notice changes in vegetation and enjoy wide views of the Shira Plateau. The hike is moderate and perfect for acclimatization. Wildlife and unique plants make the journey exciting.

The trail continues across the beautiful Shira Plateau with stunning views of Kibo Peak. This section is less steep but exposed, giving wide mountain scenery. You will have time to adjust to altitude. The environment becomes colder and more alpine.

The Lemosho Route is considered a moderately challenging trek. It is suitable for climbers with a reasonable level of fitness and offers one of the highest summit success rates due to its excellent acclimatization profile.

No technical climbing experience is required. However, regular physical exercise and preparation before the trek are highly recommended to improve your chances of reaching the summit.

Essential items include hiking boots, warm clothing, waterproof gear, a sleeping bag, trekking poles, gloves, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a daypack. A detailed packing list will be provided after booking.
